—Urchin
Urchin is a stowaway who lives within the walls of The Coriolis.
Though he is a nonhuman creature of the Ethersea, he is able to speak in common. Undetected by the crew for days after they bought the ship from Mona's Haul, he ate their food, disassembled and reassembled various appliances, and shit in the walls. He still does all of these things. He also has full access to the bathysphere which he uses as his rec room.
Stowed away thanks to a roll of 26 in the random encounter's table, Urchin affects The Coriolis's ability scores:
- He siphons away resources from the crew, giving the ship -3 readiness
- He leaves spare parts around the ship, giving a +1 to any repair roll
Urchin is loathed by Devo, who has vowed to kill him both out of praciticality and personal annoyance, while Amber and Zoox begrudgingly tolerate him. On first discovering Urchin, the crew startled him, which led to him threatening them with an explosive from the disassembled depth charge. After a bit of negotiating, they agreed to let him go to live freely on the ship. When the ribbon worm attacked The Coriolis inside of the Infinite Clam, its webbing encased Urchin in a cocoon inside of Amber's Place. Devo was forced to save him, knowing Urchin is his to take out one day.
Physical Appearance[]
Urchin is a small, round creature who is kind of cute, but mostly weird looking. He is furry and rat-like. His back is covered in needles, and, when frightened, he is able to roll into a spiky ball. He claims to not have an ass, despite admitting to shitting in the walls of the ship.
