Scuttle Buddy was a Fantasy Costco item purchased by Merle Highchurch in Episode 9.
Description and History[]
The Scuttle Buddy is a mechanical beetle that could be wound up and used as a scout, spy, or conversational partner (though he won't have anything interesting to say). Scuttle Buddy is limited to four uses, and was presumed destroyed when the Rockport Limited crashed into Jenkins' Garden.
Merle was later reunited with the Scuttle Buddy in the finale, when the party was pushed out of reality. It had presumably escaped destruction by being in a part of the train that was removed from existence.
