Hieronymous Wiggenstaff is the Founder of Hieronymous Wiggenstaff's School for Heroism and Villainy, as well as its Headmaster. He is incredibly confident and is first seen wearing shiny blue armor with gold accents. His long-time sidekick is his younger brother, Higglemas Wiggenstaff . He is well over 500 years old, but doesn't look a day over 400. His office is found on the fifth floor of the school.
In Episode 12, it was revealed that the Hieronymous Wiggenstaff running the school is an impostor, and the real Hieronymous was transformed into Higglemas's dog in order to save him from a curse. In Episode 18, he was finally transformed back into an elf.
Personality[]
As an elf, Hieronymous was a selfless hero who saved countless lives without ever asking for anything in return. He wanted to teach the next generation of heroes to be what heroes should be, and even as he watched the very role and definition of a "hero" change, he still believed that people would do good because it was right, not just because they were being paid to do so.
As a dog, Hieronymous enjoyed tummy rubs and appeared slightly more intelligent than the average dog, able to perform tasks like opening the office door.
History[]
Born over 500 years ago, Hieronymous Wiggenstaff rose to renown as a hero, with his deeds ranging from victory in battle to establishing peace between warring kingdoms. 250 years ago, Hieronymous founded the school now known as Hieronymous Wiggenstaff's School for Heroism and Villainy, though at the time it was only a training school for a new generation of heroes. As the world changed, and kingdoms began to employ professional heroes and villains, the school began to teach villains alongside heroes—but Hieronymous still believed that people would do good because it was right, not just because they were being hired to do so.
50 years ago, a demon prince attempted to kill Hieronymous with a curse. Higglemas was able to save his brother by polymorphing him into a collie dog, but the next day, a "new" Hieronymous appeared at the school and the Godscar Chasm appeared where had previously been a field. Since then, he had stayed in Higglemas's office in dog form; however, the Firbolg confirmed Higglemas's fears that the transformation is becoming permanent, and Higglemas recruited the Firbolg to help find the components to transform Hieronymous back.
