Powers and Abilities[]

Moves[]

Callan has access to all of the Basic and Faction moves available to all characters. He has not advanced any of them.

Let It Out[]

In Urban Shadows second edition, each playbook has its own version of this move. The Hunter version of let it out allows Callan to:

  • track someone or something through the city with limited information or trail
  • improvise a weapon (2-harm hand messy) or armor (1-armor fragile)
  • jury rig an explosive (3-harm loud fire) or smoke bomb (s-harm loud smoke)
  • force a vulnerable foe to flee his presence and deliver a message

Hunter Moves[]

  • Deadly: when Callan inflicts harm, he always inflicts 1 additional harm. He can't choose to reduce this harm.
  • Prepared for Anything: Callan has a well-stocked armory, including modern and ancient weapons.
  • Watch Them Closely: Callan can closely observe a supernatural person or creature; he rolls Blood to see how successful he is. On a hit he learns a bit about their nature and can identify an unnatural weakness or flaw, giving him +1 ongoing when he can take advantage of this information. On a 10+ he gets more information, but on a miss someone takes advantage of his diverted attention and acts against him before he sees it coming.

Trivia[]

  • Clint almost named him "Darnell Tootin'" but decided against it in order to keep Callan's cold brooding demeanor
  • Unable to not joke during episodes, whenever he made one, Clint goofed that it was from a parrot on Callan's shoulder named Squawky. He is not recognized in the narrative of the season.
  • In the set up episode, Clint describes Callan as being covered with scars and in constant pain, and requires acupuncture sessions in order to function
