Argo! I have solved the mystery! Arrest Calhain!

Master Firbolg

Calhain was a human man who works as a magical advisor to Malwin the Strong, leader of the centaurs of the Scarlet Woods.

History[]

A few months before the Thundermen received their real-world assignment, Calhain joined the centaurs as a magical consultant, and became engaged with the centaur Taren. At some point, he received orders from "Fauxronymous" to steal the tree's magical apples one at a time, provoking a war between the two centaur tribes.

Upon order of the Firbolg, Argo briefly arrested Calhain for stealing the second apple, but released him after Althea Song explained to the Firbolg that Calhain was just a magical consultant. Later, Calhain claimed he'd graduated from the Hero track at Hieronymous Wiggenstaff's School for Heroism and Villainy about 10 years ago, but upon being intimidated by Fitzroy and Argo, confided that he was a sidekick, and he'd exaggerated his credentials because he couldn't get a job otherwise.

In The Adventure Zone: Graduation Ep. 15 “Out of Order," it was revealed that Calhain fled his tent immediately after Fitzroy fell ill, leaving behind a two-way communication mirror that could be used to contact the impostor Hieronymous Wiggenstaff. The Firbolg and Rhodes tracked him to the magical tree, from which he stole the apple, through the tent of the Thundermen, from which he stole a supply bag, and finally to the tent of Malwin the Strong, where he attempted to frame the Thundermen and Rhodes for the apple theft.

In The Adventure Zone: Graduation Ep. 16 “Give Me A Hand,” Argo and Fitzroy severed Calhain's gloved hand (and later threw it in a fire), breaking Fitzroy's curse. Calhain was intimidated by the Thundermen into confessing, explaining that he'd stolen both magical apples, tried to frame the Thundermen, and cursed Fitzroy. After the centaurs arrested and chained Calhain, the Firbolg showed him the mirror and forced him to explain his failure to the impostor Hieronymous, and black ooze poured out of Calhain's orifices, killing him.
